Syria and Lebanon Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Fate of Syrian Detainees

Damascus – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mr. Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and Minister of Justice Dr. Mazhar al-Wais received Lebanon’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants H.E. Tarek Mitri in the capital, Damascus.

The two sides reviewed the latest regional developments and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. They addressed a number of issues of common concern, foremost among them the situation of Syrian detainees in Lebanon who had supported the Syrian revolution, stressing the need for an urgent and just settlement of their cases.
