In the case of a minor applicant (under the age of 14), the father or the paternal grandfather must be present at the diplomatic mission.
If the mother is the applicant, she must provide a legal guardianship certificate issued by the Sharia Court in Syria and certified by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with no more than three months having passed since its issuance. Alternatively, approval from the legal guardian (father or paternal grandfather) must be obtained.
If the father is deceased or abroad, the uncle or brother may apply for the passport for the minor after presenting the required documentation and undergoing the necessary verification procedures.
