Civil Status/Birth Registration/

The service enables Syrian citizens, or those considered as such , to register the births of their children at the Syrian diplomatic mission and later have them recorded with the civil status offices in the Syrian Arab Republic

Required documents


  • Official local birth certificate issued by the authorities of the country where the birth occurred, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country
  • Family card, family registration statement, or any official document proving that the marriage has been registered in the civil status records in Syria
  • Copies of the personal identification cards or passports of the parents, or recent individual civil registration certificates (issued within the last three months).

Terms and conditions


  • The father or the legal guardian must be present in person.

  • Birth events that occurred more than 18 years ago cannot be registered at the diplomatic missions. However, it is possible to begin the registration process for individuals over 18 years old through the diplomatic mission, with the remaining procedures completed in Syria.
