Foreign Minister Meets Ambassadors of European Countries in Damascus

Damascus – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, met with the ambassadors of European countries to Syria. The meeting comes within the framework of strengthening communication and dialogue with international partners.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the latest developments in Syria and the wider region. They also exchanged views on ways to advance multi-sector cooperation between Syria and the European countries.

Furthermore, the two sides deliberated on a set of important issues, including:

• The repeated Israeli aggressions against Syrian territory and their negative impact on regional security and stability.

• Transitional justice and its positive role in advancing national reconciliation.

• Supporting development projects that strengthen economic recovery, particularly in the affected areas.

• Safeguarding Syria’s territorial integrity and stability, while firmly rejecting all forms of separatism and fragmentation.

• Integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into state institutions to ensure unified decision-making and full sovereignty.

• Extending support to Suwayda Governorate and backing government efforts to re-open all institutions in order to serve citizens effectively.

Finally, Minister Al-Shaibani reaffirmed the importance of frank and direct dialogue with European countries, and of strengthening bilateral relations to serve the interests of both nations.
