Department of International Organizations and Conferences at MoFA Holds Its First Workshop to Formulate The Comprehensive National Strategy of Syrian Arab Republic Against Torture

The Department of International Organizations and Conferences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held the first workshop to draft the Syrian Arab Republic's comprehensive national strategy against torture.

This initiative stems from the government's commitment to overcoming the legacy of the former regime, promoting justice and human dignity, and developing a comprehensive national strategy aimed at preventing torture, ensuring accountability, providing reparations for victims, and strengthening trust in institutions.

The workshop was held with the participation of national stakeholders and in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in accordance with the international conventions to which the Syrian Arab Republic is a signatory.
