Syria Welcomes Ceasefire in Lebanon and Reaffirms Support for Regional Stability

Damascus, 17 April 2026 – The Syrian Arab Republic welcomes the ceasefire in the sisterly State of Lebanon and affirms that this step represents a significant development in preventing further escalation and tension in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic reiterates that the Syrian Arab Republic has always supported all efforts aimed at ensuring the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and safety of the Lebanese people.

The Syrian Arab Republic also highly appreciates the regional and international efforts that contributed to reaching this ceasefire. It further reaffirms its readiness to support all efforts that enhance stability and peace in Lebanon and the Arab world.
