Statement Issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of The Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, December 24, 2025 – The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the sisterly State of Libya on the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, and his companions, who perished in a plane crash.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extends its condolences to the leadership of the Libyan Armed Forces and to the families of the deceased and his companions, expressing the solidarity of the Syrian Arab Republic with the sisterly State of Libya during this painful time.

In this context, the Syrian Arab Republic affirms the deep bonds of brotherhood that unite the two countries and their peoples, praying to God Almighty to grant His mercy to the deceased and his companions, and to grant their families patience and solace.
