Statement Issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of The Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, November 10, 2025. In a historic visit, the first of its kind, President Ahmed al-Sharaa paid an official visit to the White House, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, where he was received by His Excellency the US President, Donald Trump, in a historic meeting that lasted for more than an hour, during which a friendly and constructive atmosphere prevailed.

President Trump expressed his admiration for the new Syrian leadership and the Syrian people, praising Syria's successful leadership during the previous phase and the achievements made in liberating and restoring stability throughout the country. He also affirmed the United States' readiness to provide the necessary support to the Syrian leadership to ensure the success of the reconstruction and development process in the coming phase.

At the direction of President Trump, an expanded working meeting was held, which included the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, the US Secretary of State, Mr. Marco Rubio, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mr. Hakan Fidan, to follow up on what was agreed upon between the two presidents and to develop clear implementation mechanisms for it.

During the talks, both sides agreed to proceed with implementing the March 10 agreement, including the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army, as part of a process to unify institutions and strengthen national security. The US side also affirmed its support for reaching a security agreement with Israel aimed at enhancing regional stability.

On the economic front, President Trump expressed his country's support for reconstruction and investment efforts in Syria, affirming the United States' commitment to proceeding with lifting sanctions imposed under the Caesar Act, thereby enhancing development opportunities and attracting investment.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts between the two sides in a friendly atmosphere reflecting the spirit of openness and the shared desire to build a new chapter in Syrian-American relations, based on mutual respect and the common interests of the two friendly nations.
