Statement Issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of The Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, March 29, 2026 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the terrorist attacks targeting the residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, which were carried out by outlaw groups.

The Ministry considers these illegal acts of aggression a threat to security and stability in Iraq and the region, and a violation of the principles of international law.

The Syrian Arab Republic reaffirms its unwavering support for the stability and territorial integrity of Iraq, and its rejection of all forms of armed interference in its internal affairs.
