Statement Issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, September 29, 2025 - A video clip circulated on social media platforms showing a limited number of people chanting offensive slogans on the sidelines of what was said to be a solidarity stand with the brotherly Palestinian people in Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic affirms that such reprehensible actions do not at all reflect the feelings of the Syrian people towards the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, its leadership and people, and represent only those who perpetrated them.

The Ministry expresses its regret that some have exploited this isolated incident in an attempt to undermine the deep and solid fraternal relations between Syria and Egypt.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also reiterates its great appreciation and respect for sisterly Egypt and its generous people, who have hosted hundreds of thousands of Syrians over the past years. It also stresses the Syrian Arab Republic's keenness to strengthen and adhere to the bonds of Syrian-Egyptian relations, and its categorical rejection of any attempt to harm them.
