The Syrian Arab Republic condemns the targeting of Aleppo city by drones

Damascus, January 10, 2026 - The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the targeting of government buildings and residential neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo by drones, considering this escalation a blatant terrorist attack that threatens the lives of civilians and disregards all security understandings, which confirms the necessity of the “law enforcement” measures taken by the state in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to restore security and extend the exclusive authority of the law over all Syrian territory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stresses that these hostile acts will not deter the state from its duty to protect its citizens and cleanse the areas of illegal armed manifestations. It also holds the perpetrators fully legally responsible for these attacks, affirming the legal and criminal prosecution of all those involved to ensure they are held accountable for their crimes against state institutions and civilians.

In this context, the Syrian Arab Republic calls on the international community to condemn these terrorist operations and to support the Syrian state’s efforts in its war against terrorism and to consolidate the foundations of security and stability.
