Foreign Minister al-Shaibani Receives a Delegation from The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on The Syrian Arab Republic, in Damascus

Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani received a delegation from the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic, headed by Ms. Mounia Ammar, in Damascus.

The meeting reviewed the results of the Commission's visit to Syria and the efforts it undertook during the past year.

Discussions also focused on ways to enhance existing cooperation and facilitate the Commission's work in accordance with national laws and with respect for Syrian sovereignty.

During the meeting, the Minister affirmed the Syrian government's commitment to continued coordination and constructive dialogue with UN mechanisms, praising the Commission's professional work.

The Commission, in turn, commended the Syrian government's fruitful cooperation and the facilitation it provided, as well as its significant efforts in managing the current phase, despite the accumulated challenges and difficulties and the heavy legacy of the previous period.
