President Ahmad Al-Sharaa Receives UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell; Meeting Attended by Senior Officials

His Excellency President Ahmad Al-Sharaa of the Syrian Arab Republic received the United Kingdom’s National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, in Damascus. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, and the Director of the General Intelligence Services, Hussain Al-Salama.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and addressed the current regional and international developments. His Excellency the President affirmed Syria’s openness to any genuine initiatives that contribute to the security and stability of the region, provided they respect Syria’s sovereignty and its independent national decision.
