The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Receives Diplomats who Defected from The Former Regime and Signs Decree to Reinstate Them to Their Positions

Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani received a number of diplomats who had defected from the former regime at the Ministry headquarters in Damascus on Monday.

During the meeting, the Minister praised the diplomats' stances and efforts in exposing the crimes of the former regime, commending their alignment with the Syrian people and their support for their just cause. He emphasized that the new Syrian policy is based on actions, not words, and that the commitments made by the state from the outset have been implemented with steady steps and unwavering resolve.

The Minister noted that the success of the Syrian state's plans, despite the challenges, is a result of the people's support for their national leadership. He reiterated Syria's aspiration to build a state where all its citizens feel safe and a sense of belonging, based on genuine partnership and integration in its regional and international relations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister signed a decree reinstating the 21 defecting diplomats to their positions within the diplomatic corps, stressing the importance of this step in restoring national expertise.
