Statement Issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of The Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, March 22, 2026 – The Syrian Arab Republic extends its deepest condolences to the sisterly State of Qatar and the friendly Republic of Turkey on the martyrdom of six members of the Qatari Armed Forces and the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, as well as Turkish civilians, following the crash of a helicopter in Qatari territorial waters due to a malfunction while performing its routine duties.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirms Syria’s full solidarity with the governments and peoples of Qatar and Turkey in this tragic loss, and expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
