Statement Issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of The Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, March 20, 2026 – The Syrian Arab Republic condemns strongly the brutal Israeli attack that targeted military infrastructure in southern Syria today, in flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and a blatant attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

This new aggression, carried out under flimsy pretexts and fabricated excuses, is a clear extension of the escalation policy pursued by the Israeli occupation and a continuation of its policy of interference in internal affairs aimed at destabilizing security and stability in the region.

The Syrian Arab Republic holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of this dangerous escalation and calls upon the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and put an end to the ongoing policies of aggression and threats practiced by Israel against Syria and the entire region.
