Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus – 25 August 2025, The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, which resulted in the killing of a young man after his house was targeted in the northern countryside of Quneitra, in the village of Turnejeh. Syria also firmly condemns the military incursion and the harassment of civilians in the village of Swisa, as Israel unlawfully establishes illegal bases in Mount Hermon and within the buffer zone.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirms that these aggressive acts constitute a blatant breach of the UN Charter, international law, and relevant Security Council resolutions. These aggressions pose a serious threat to peace and security in the region.

Syria calls upon the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take the necessary measures to put an end to these ongoing aggressions. Syria also stresses its legitimate right to defend its people and territory by all means permitted under international law.
