For The First Time in Syria, and Amidst Large Official Presence, Damascus Holds an Event Marking International Human Rights Day

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, an event was held today in Damascus to mark International Human Rights Day, the first such event in Syria, with broad official attendance.

The event was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, along with several other Syrian government ministers, and representatives from diplomatic missions, international organizations, and national institutions.
