Foreign Minister al-Shaibani Meets with Nechirvan Barzani

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, met with the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint coordination and consultation regarding regional developments, while emphasizing that the stability of Syria constitutes a fundamental pillar for the stability of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Mr. Barzani affirmed his support for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, praising the reform steps and Presidential Decree 13.

Stressing that the political decision in Syria stems from Damascus, emphasizing adherence to the unity of Syrian territory and strengthening state institutions. The meeting also discussed the prospects for developing economic and development relations, especially in the areas of reconstruction and revitalizing trade and investment cooperation.
