Condition of visa
Entry and transit visa
Conditions and documents needed to obtain an entry visa:
- Two forms (download the application) that must be filled on the website www.syrianembassy.be and printed. Forms must be signed exclusively by the visa applicant.
- The passport and tow copies of the first pages of the passport. The passport must be valid at least six months. Each copy must be joined to an application form.
- Tow color photos (4x4) which must be affixed to the forms.
- Holders of a nationality other than Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg must show a residence card valid. A copy of the residence card must be attached to each form.
- A certificate of occupation: who determines the nature of the work visa applicant and the title of his job. Eg. a letter from the company that employs the applicant who explained the objects of the company (commercial, service, industrial, etc..) And the function of the applicant or provide a badge which explains the work function (not a business card)…
- When the trip is for business: it is necessary to attach a letter from the company where the person works. This letter must state the objects (commercial, service, industrial, etc..), The function of the visa applicant and the company name and contact in Syria. If the visa is requested for several entries, he must also attach a letter of invitation from the company in Syria.
- For Syrian citizens holding foreign passports: it is not necessary to request a visa requirement to show the entry (airport) which proves the Syrian nationality as an identity card.
- For the wives and children of Syrian citizens holding foreign passports, the wife can get the visa directly at ports of entry or at the embassy provided to provide a copy of the marriage certificate and proof of Syrian nationality of the husband (copy of identity card). This requirement also applies to children of Syrian citizens. To do this we must provide proof that they are children of Syrian showing a copy of birth certificate and proof that the father is Syrian (copy of identity card or passport). The visa is issued free of charge.
- For holders of diplomatic passport or service, officials of the Commission, Council, European Parliament and officials and military attaches who have to visit Syria as part of an official mission, they must provide us with a verbal note of the institution, a copy of the visit’s program or conference to be held and an official invitation from the authorities in Syria.
- Journalists must attach in addition to the above mentioned documents:
- a letter from the company where they work. It must specify the purpose of the visit and the work they must perform
- a list of equipment they take with them (camera, ...) in order to facilitate this mission.
- a CV and a summary of the full felt mission last years
- a copy of the last article writen on Syria or a CD of the last report on Syria
- fill an application form for press visa (download the application)
